Overview
The C90500 is also referred to as gunmetal. It is a red brass and was originally used for making guns, hence the name. It is a tin bronze and contains 87.5% copper. It has high strength characteristics, along with good thermal conductivity. It has a high cost as a bronze tin alloy. Despite the name, it is now used in a variety of applications beyond weaponry. Its combination of strength, thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance makes it a valuable material in various engineering contexts, albeit at a higher cost compared to some other alloys.
Typical Uses
Pump impellers, pump bodies, bearings, bushings, gears, steam fittings, valve components.
