Alloy Grade UNS: J32550 – Seawater Corrosion Resistance

  • Overview

J32550, also known as FERRALIUM 255 or S32550, is a high-performance duplex stainless steel renowned for its exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in demanding marine environments. This alloy boasts nearly twice the strength of common stainless steels, making it suitable for challenging applications where structural integrity is critical. Its duplex microstructure, a balanced combination of austenite and ferrite phases, contributes to its enhanced mechanical properties and its ability to resist various forms of corrosion, including pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater. With a chromium content of up to 27%, J32550 offers superior protection against corrosion in harsh environments, making it a valuable choice for applications where both strength and corrosion resistance are essential.

  • Typical Uses
